Happy July 2023, TaurusLast month, Neptune retrograde asked you to step back from relationships with anyone who bulldozes through your boundaries. Social shake-ups can be stressful, especially if you are confronted with any fair-weather friendships. Monday, July 3, brings a full moon in Capricorn and your 9th House of Philosophy. Full moons can always be intense, but this one provides much-appreciated time for reflection. Use this lunation to treat yourself to long baths, plenty of sleep, skin-care rituals, or whatever is your most treasured form of self-care. By pampering yourself, you get in touch with your self-worth and will feel confident that any relationship changes are in your best interest.

When Mars, the fighter planet of the zodiac, enters fastidious Virgo and your 5th House of Pleasure on Monday, July 10, you’re inspired to dive into a new creative hobby (or obsess over a current one). While astrologers often associate the House of Pleasure with sex (and this transit can mean red-hot passion in bed for everyone dating), its role in all art forms shouldn’t be understated. This transit acts like a muse, so take advantage of it. Use the new moon in Cancer on Monday, July 17, as an opportunity to channel emotions into something beautiful.

Your ruling planet, Venus, the ruler of abundance, love, and beauty, goes retrograde in Leo starting on Saturday, July 22, and lasting through Sunday, September 3. During Venus’s backward dance, which lasts through Sunday, September 3, it’s wise to hold off on plastic surgery or other big changes to your appearance. (That said, if you are scheduled for any gender-affirmation procedures, don’t push your appointment! Your well-being is far more important than what any horoscope says. Plus, rest easy knowing that Venus has your back). As life-of-the-part Leo season begins on this same date, Saturday, July 22, however, you can absolutely indulge in bold summer party makeup.

Chiron, an astrologically-important comet known as “the wounded healer,” also goes retrograde on Sunday, July 23. During Chiron’s backward dance, which lasts through Tuesday, December 26, we’re encouraged to pamper our inner child, taking care of old wounds using love. Yes, this means self-love, and yes, from delicious snacks to taking a mental health day off work, indulge in as much self-care as possible. However, remember that you aren’t alone. Chiron retrograde works best if you connect with loved ones. Remember: you’re never alone in your healing. By the time July ends, any changes in your social circle which began last month should have balanced out, bringing the most important people in your life even closer to your heart, so you can rest assured that they will be there for you. Conversely, remember that everyone is going through this healing retrograde, so if a friend asks you for help, answer the call.

Finally, Mercury, the chatty messenger of the gods, enters Virgo and your 5th House of Pleasure on Friday, July 28, helping you communicate your desires to others, whether it’s a sexual fantasy or being honest that you would really prefer to watch a different TV show. Life is too short to binge-watch something you hate. Have fun this month, and we’ll see you in August.
