I definitely wanted to be some kind of singer or dancer because that was probably my favorite thing to do — and still is.

What was your first job?

Working for a retail store called DJs in the ’90s. I was 15.

What quality do you think has served you best in your career so far?

Seeing the value in people and connecting them. Community is so important to me. I have a lot of friends that I’ve connected with other friends and it makes our community stronger. My favorite thing to do is connect people.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

I like when people compliment my style because [the way I dress] is something that I don’t do for other people. I do it for myself. So it makes me feel seen.

What’s your idea of a perfect Sunday?

I just love a day at the beach. I love the water.

My next (or first) tattoo would be…?

I recently got a henna tattoo on my hand. I like that it looks like a pattern, like a fabric, so that would be it.

Favorite non-perfume smell?

The beach — the sand, the suntan oil. But I also love the smell of a baby’s breath. It’s just… you know?

Your fantasy superpower would be?

Using all of my emotions and intuition to build [myself] up to be this really strong person who can take on anything. I’ve become a sensitive person, but I’m [working up to] using that as a strength.

Who’s on your A List?

I really admire selfless people like mothers, nurses, and teachers. But really, teachers: Teaching is the most nurturing thing and we need that right now.
