If you haven’t acquainted yourself with Sheryl Lee Ralph‘s Abbott Elementary character Barbara Howard, then I need you to go watch the show now. (Trust me, you won’t regret it.) You’ll appreciate not only the laughs from Ralph but also her radiant beauty — her skin truly glows brighter than the sun. I love seeing Ralph as Howard on my TV screen and as herself on her social media feeds. Most recently, I haven’t been able to get enough of her extremely curly goddess braids.
On August 22, Ralph wore her goddess box braids with a monochromatic green outfit for an appearance on Fox 29’s Good Day to promote her book, DIVA 2.0: 12 Life Lessons From Me For You! Goddess braids (also known as boho braids) have not only been the hairstyle of summer 2023 but also the ultimate vacation hairstyle, and we’ve seen them in all styles, colors, and lengths on other celebrities like Gabrielle Union, Marsai Martin, H.E.R. to name a few.
