Awards season must be exhausting when you’re a celebrity. There are countless fittings, hair and makeup tests, sore feet from high heels … the list goes on. Selena Gomez knows all about the red carpet rush, but the star decided to hang at home instead of glamming it up at the 2023 Oscars, and after seeing her makeup-free selfie, we can’t say we blame her.
While we don’t know for sure if Gomez was invited to the ceremony, she has been a mainstay during awards season, including her adorable high ponytail and crystal manicure at the Golden Globes. However, there’s something to be said about hanging at home in sweatpants instead of suffering in too-tight stilettos, and Gomez’s selfie makes a compelling case for staying in.
In the photos, we see Gomez posing for the camera sans makeup, hanging on the couch in a black zip tank top with her hair in loose waves. You can clearly see the freckles scattered across her nose, which is extremely cute, and her skin is practically glowing right off the screen. “Violet chemistry,” the actor and Rare Beauty founder captioned the pic, leading us to believe she’s been listening to fellow Disney alum Miley Cyrus‘s new album. Gomez looks gorgeous when she’s all made up for the red carpet, but she’s equally stunning when stripped down.
