Selena Gomez is ready to pull on her can-can skirt and head off to the Belle Époque to audition for Moulin Rouge!
It just so happens that the actor and Rare Beauty founder is currently in Paris for Fashion Week, and makeup artist Avia Solomon used the City of Lights as inspiration for Gomez’s latest makeup look — a romantic red and pink eye and lip combo that would be right at home on the set of the Broadway show or a sequel to the beloved 2001 movie. In fact, Solomon revealed that the Moulin was the direct inspo for Gomez’s glam.
Solomon used Rare Beauty products (obviously) on Gomez, starting with a rose pink eye shadow all over the actor’s lids, then defined them with a darker reddish-pink shade in her crease. Solomon then added a slim flick of winged liner to Gomez’s upper lids, drawing it past the outer corner in a precise line and adding a bit to her lower lashline for more drama. Solomon kept the entire face monochromatic, using a reddish-pink blush (perhaps the viral, fan favorite Soft Pinch Liquid Blush? on Gomez’s cheeks combined with just a hint of highlighter. As for Gomez’s lips, there was only one way to go, color-wise: bright, traffic stopping, “Elephant Love Medley” red. Solomon painted on a classic crimson lipstick, brushed up Gomez’s brows and the actor was ready to hit the stage … or the cobblestone sidewalks of Paris, anyway.
