Has there ever been a Hippie Barbie? I personally don’t recall one, but there’s one now, and she’s life-sized. OK, so it’s actually Margot Robbie at the Chanel Cruise show, but I think that totally counts.
Everything about Robbie’s look is giving Actual Coolest Chick at the Musical Festival, starting obviously with her devastatingly perfect hair. You know those beachy waves you dream of — the ones shaped by salty shore air but somehow miraculously devoid of frizz, sandy crunch, and wind-whipped tangles? Robbie’s got ’em.
Stylist Christopher Farmer is credited with the beautiful blowout, to which he added just the right degree of subtle bends. The wheat-blonde shade shines from middle part to ends, which reach mid-back. And from the looks of it, there was no humidity in the Los Angeles air to threaten the smooth finish.
Robbie kept her makeup low-key with a rosy-brown lipstick, bronze-meets-pink cheeks, and thick, long, yet natural-looking lashes.
What really hits the hippie-look home run, though, is the outfit: The bell bottom jeans are Haight-Ashbury perfection, the triangle bikini top is free-spirited as hell, and the vest — well, from it distance it recalls the macrame styles of the late ’60s, but upon closer inspection, this is one well-heeled hippie. The vest is made of leather and gold Chanel trinkets.
