Kim Kardashian has been a great sidekick in daughter North West’s many, many TikTok videos; the mother-and-daughter duo shares an account, though it’s completely run by the visionary young West. However, it’s time for Mama to strike out on her own, so Kardashian is attempting the TikTok life sans her 9-year-old director — and the results have me feeling both broke and jealous.
Kardashian posted her first TikTok sans her daughter sharing part of her morning routine. “I’m feeling myself,” the SKKN by Kim founder wrote of her video, which isn’t exactly a “Get Ready with Me” video but does give us a peek into her daily routine. She starts out seemingly barefaced in her all-neutral bedroom and bathroom, her dark hair worn in undone loose waves. (Is the platinum blonde hair a permanent thing of the past?) Kardashian, who is wearing a white tank top and jeans for a casual look, then applies what appears to be a SKKN serum all over her face before heading to the kitchen (also done in neutral tones, OBV) for a cup of coffee from her fancy Nespresso. She’s got her coffee, she’s got her skin care, her face is glowing and she’s 100 percent unbothered — literally the best way to start the day. And yes, she’s extremely rich, so that helps.
TikTok may be a relatively new journey for Kardashian, but her kids are already complete pros. North and Chicago recently teamed up to style each other’s edges in the cutest hair tutorial we’ve ever seen, and North has also shown off her artistry by playing the role of Mario Dedivanovic and doing her mom’s makeup. Kardashian, too, has dipped her toes into the TikTok world, including one where she gave herself a “chav” look with Kylie Cosmetics. She will definitely keep appearing in her kids’ videos, doing silly dances with North and recreating memes, but it’s fun to see her taking on the video platform as her (moisturized, caffeinated) self too.
