Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West are both beauty icons in their own right. Kardashian has been setting trends since the late 2000s, while West is a burgeoning TikTok beauty pro who may be working on her own skincare line. While West has always tagged along to fashion shows and photoshoots, appearing in Vogue when she was just a baby (in Chanel, no less), she’s started hitting the red carpet with her mom more frequently — including a pre-show appearance en route to the Met Gala.
Kardashian and West were snapped on their way to the event in completely opposite beauty looks. West looked adorable in a pastel tweed Chanel jacket over a pair of baggy light wash jeans and platform boots, her hair parted to the side and pulled back in a half ponytail. West wore just the teeniest bit of makeup befitting a nine-year-old, looking cute and fresh next to her mom’s full glam.
Kardashian, of course, never misses the opportunity to make a splash on the Met Gala carpet, and she paired her pearl Schiaparelli gown with a high ’90s-style updo with curtain bangs by her hairstylist Chris Appleton and a bronze eye to match her colored contacts. Appleton prepped Kardashian’s hair with Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray, then added volume with Color Wow Raise the Root Thicken + Lift Spray while blow drying with the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. Once the hair was dry, he used Dyson Corrale Hair Styler Straightener to create curls, then added texture spray and pulled Kardashian’s hair into a messy, Pamela Anderson-style French twist.
