As an editor with a lot of tattoos, nothing gets under my skin (no pun intended) more than the thought of a tattoo with a typo. Only a couple of my tattoos feature text, but you can’t be damn sure I looked at the designs over and over and over before the needle came out. But even when you have two sets of eyes on the stencil — yours and the artist’s — mistakes can still happen. And it seems Cara Delevingne might have just found that out firsthand.

On Monday, September 27, the model and actor shared Italian tattoo artist Matteo Nangeroni’s grid post of her latest tattoo: a stunning dot-work piece of a mask-like, incomplete face above lettering. The words are a definition, which reads, “dormiveglia: (n.) the place that stretches between sleeping and walking.”

There’s just one problem: Dormiveglia is actually the place between sleeping and waking. It’s the Italian word for being half-asleep and half-awake. And the artist’s followers have flocked to the post to point that out in the comments.

“Nooo….you spelled it wrong ???? it’s supposed to be ‘waking’ not WALKING ????,” one commenter wrote, while another said, “Walking or waking? Beautiful tattoo though!! ❤️” When someone asked if it was choice or a typo, another commenter said, “Artist claims it was a choice but is deleting other comments calling it out…”
