Halle Bailey has no concern for my delicate edges, as she has been consistently snatching them with each new hairstyle she debuts. I still haven’t recovered from her Met Gala hair, which mystified me because I couldn’t tell where her locs ended and straight hair began. And she’s not taking her foot off my neck with her latest look, a loc ponytail so long that maybe Disney should have cast her as Rapunzel instead of Ariel.

She wore the lengthy ponytail to the Mexico City premiere of The Little Mermaid on May 11. She looked absolutely stunning in a white tulle gown with a deep V neckline and her locs swept up into the high ponytail. A section of her locs at the front was swept to the side to create a faux side bang. From the front, you would have never guessed that about a fourth of the way down this ponytail, the locs transitioned into springy curls that cascaded towards her knees.

Her makeup was on the lighter end of the spectrum but only added to the ethereal vibe of her entire look. Her lids were coated with flecks of silver shimmer, and a mauve glossy pigment was painted on her lips.

As for her nails, she had the same 3D sea-inspired manicure we spotted at the world premiere of the Disney film a few days earlier. Her almond nails were painted with an aquamarine chrome pigment and adorned with tons of pearls and blue gems — a perfect manicure for the live-action Ariel.
