Drew Barrymore had her first-ever hot flash, and, lucky for her, it was captured on television. The actor and talk show host, 48, interviewed Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler for the Monday, March 27 episode of her daytime show The Drew Barrymore Show. During the interview, Barrymore had what she believes to be her first perimenopausal hot flash.

“I am so hot, I think I’m having my first perimenopause hot flashes,” she said as she took off her pinstriped blazer and fanned herself. “For the first time, I think I’m having my first hot flash. Whoa!”

Aniston, who helped adjust Barrymore’s microphone, replied, “Oh, I feel so honored.” Sandler reached out and held Barrymore’s hand and said, “that’s a warm hand!”

“Well, I’m so glad I have this moment documented,” Barrymore said. See the clip below, around the 3:40 mark.

Per the Mayo Clinic, “Perimenopause means ‘around menopause’ and refers to the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause, marking the end of the reproductive years. Perimenopause is also called the menopausal transition.” Last week, Barrymore discussed perimenopause with Gayle King for the CBS Mornings series “Facing Fertility.”
