It’s July, Cancer, meaning you must pass the torch to Leo. However, fear not; from romantic rhymes to late nights with friends, this month brings plenty to look forward to. During June, you felt extra creative. Whether you experimented with summer makeup looks or learned how to play a new song while the sun was in your sign, you remembered why they say Cancers are the poets of the zodiac. When Monday, July 3, brings a full moon in intentional Capricorn and your 7th House of Partnership, lower your guard and let someone be your muse. This full moon sees you living out a sexual fantasy (then writing poetry about it) or cracking up laughing while filming TikTok dances with friends.

When Mercury, the messenger of the gods, enters Leo and your 2nd House of Possessions on Tuesday, July 11, you can tackle conversations about stereotypically tricky topics. This could mean discussing finances with a partner or simply being honest about what you want from a relationship. While the 2nd House of Possessions is associated with money, it also encompasses our feelings, which we must own, Cancer. People associate you with emotions as a poetic water sign, but it can sometimes be challenging for you to share them. However, if you state your truth, you see a relationship positively evolving during the new moon in your sign, Cancer, on Monday, July 17. Some Cancers may discuss exclusivity (or ethical nonmonogamy) with a romantic partner, while others ask friends if making them their emergency contact is cool.

The pretty planet Venus, ruler of beauty, love, and abundance, goes retrograde in proud Leo on Saturday, July 22. As a general rule of thumb, astrologers advise waiting until Venus’s backward dance ends (Sunday, September 3) before making any drastic cosmetic changes, such as plastic surgery or a piercing. However, during Venus’s retrograde, self-care is more important than ever, so it’s a beneficial time to lean into skin care routines, take bubble baths, and sleep in whenever possible. (That said, if you’re scheduled for any gender-affirmation procedures during this time, please keep your appointment, don’t stress about Venus retrograde, and know that the stars are looking out for you.)

Your season ends, and the sun enters Leo, kicking off Leo season on Saturday, July 22. However, you don’t even have a chance to notice or care. The next day, Chiron, an astrologically significant comet known as the “wounded healer,” goes retrograde in Aries on Sunday, July 23. During Chrion’s backward dance, which lasts through Tuesday, December 26, because it falls in your 10th House of Social Status, you heal any emotional wounds surrounding acceptance in your friend group. Too many of us bear the anxious scars of childhood bullying and rejection. Chiron’s retrograde is a time to heal that. Plus, Leo season is all about going on adventures with friends, and these bonding experiences remind you that you’re perfect just the way you are, and your whole crew agrees. Have fun, Cancer, and we’ll see you next month.
