Blake Lively, iconic blonde and longtime face of the beach waves hairstyle, is blonde no more. Well, maybe. On Thursday, January 26, the 35-year-old shared a selfie to her Instagram Stories in which her honey blonde hair is transformed into a warm auburn. Ever the tease, Lively did not add a caption to explain the change. Is it a filter? A throwback? A wig? Or did she really hit the salon?
In the snap, which appears to have some kind of blurred, soft-glow filter going on, Lively gazes to her left as a long barrel curl cascades over her shoulder. It’s giving Dyson Airwrap ad in the best way.
The selfie coincides with the news that Lively has been cast in the film adaptation of It Ends With Us opposite Jane the Virgin star Justin Baldoni. Based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 romance novel of the same name, the movie follows Lily (Lively) and Ryle (Baldoni) as their relationship becomes abusive. “I think that Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively have what it takes to bring these characters to life and I cannot wait for you guys to see that happen,” Hoover said in an Instagram video. “I’m going to do my best to sneak y’all as much footage as I can without getting kicked off the set. I’m so excited, y’all.”
