It’s a big morning for Vinegar Syndrome, with the boutique home video label kicking off their Halfway to Black Friday flash pre-order and also unveiling several new releases.
The flash pre-order for the 2022 Halfway to Black Friday sale began at 12:01 AM EST on Friday, March 25th and it will be running through Sunday at 11:59 PM EST on March 27th.
What does that mean? Well, it means you can now save some money on your pre-orders of all the brand new titles, and you can even get the entire package at a discounted rate.
The new announcements are led by Vinegar’s 4K UHD/Blu-ray edition of Bo Arne Vibenius’ Thriller: A Cruel Picture, which features both official theatrical cuts of the film, exclusively restored in 4K from the original negative and presented on disc fully uncut and un-tampered with for the first time EVER, along with a host of brand new and archival extras.
That includes “Thriller – A Cruel Documentary” – a 43 minute making-of documentary featuring narration by writer/director Bo Arne Vibenius and on camera interviews with: Christina Lindberg (star), Bo Sunnefeldt (stuntman), Lasse Lundgren (stuntman) and Gunnar Palm (actor).
Both Miami Connection (1987) and Cloak & Dagger (1984) have also gotten 4K Ultra HD upgrades from Vinegar Syndrome, with two SECRET RELEASES now up for grabs as well.
Vinegar teases the Secret Releases, which can be purchased together or as part of the “Everything!” set that’s up for pre-order now, “First up, making its worldwide Blu-ray debut from a stunning new 4K restoration of its original negative is a grim, grimy, and gruesome indie monster movie featuring a very peeved creature stalking sunny SoCal. This one took a ton of wrangling to get right and we couldn’t be happier to give it new life. Plus, if you’re starved for a helping of only-in-the-80s insanity, you’ll no doubt fall head over heels for this star studded oddity with a typically off the wall premise that’s been causing jaws to drop for nearly 40 years.”
