Vin Diesel announced that Brie Larson will join the cast of Fast And Furious 10.
The first part of the supposed finale of The Fast Saga, tentatively titled Fast and Furious 10 is gearing up for production. The film looks to be the culmination of the entire franchise that began back in 2001, and has since progressed from a film series primarily about street racing and crime to one of the most unique film franchises today. Vin Diesel and much of the film’s primary cast are expected to return, and along with a few new faces, it looks like Brie Larson will also be joining the cast.
On his official Instagram, Vin Diesel shared a photo he had with Academy Award-winner Brie Larson. In the caption, he teases that her role in Fast and Furious 10 will be quite unique, compared to her previous work in films such as Captain Marvel or even Room. You can see the post down below:
Interestingly enough, Brie Larson previously mentioned that she was interested in joining the Fast and Furious 10 cast. Now, she will likely be joining the likes of not just Vin Diesel, but Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron, Jason Momoa, and Daniela Melchior.
It will be exciting to see Brie Larson onscreen alongside Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious 10. Although the two have previously appeared in Avengers: Endgame together, scenes weren’t really shared between Captain Marvel and Groot. Also, Vin Diesel was likely not on set for that film, given that he only provides the voice for the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy character.
Here is the synopsis for the latest film in the franchise, F9: The Fast Saga:
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, this year’s The Suicide Squad).
F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.
Directed by Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, F9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
F9 is available on all home video formats. The Fast and Furious 10 is currently set to hit theaters on May 19, 2023.
