The official audience CinemaScore grade for Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick has been revealed.

After being subject to numerous delays due to the pandemic, Paramount Pictures’ Top Gun: Maverick is certainly living up to the studio’s hopes. The film, which finds Tom Cruise reprising one of his most iconic film roles, just opened this weekend, and the official audience CinemaScore grade has been revealed, and it’s safe to say that this response will certainly make the team behind the film extremely happy.

Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick is a certified success with both critics and audiences alike. Rotten Tomatoes currently has the film at a 97% approval rating amongst critics, and a 99% approval rating with audiences. To compliment that audience rating, the official CinemaScore grade is a rare A+.

With the announcement of this audience CinemaScore rating, as well as the film being projected for massive box office success this Memorial Day weekend, Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick continues Paramount Pictures’ successful 2022. The film has already broken a box office record for the highest-grossing previews for the studio, and is looking to rake in some record-breaking numbers for the entire Memorial Day weekend.

In recent years, Paramount Pictures has struggled at the box office, especially when compared to the likes of Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal. However, 2022 looks to be their most successful year in quite some time. Scream, Jackass Forever, The Lost City, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 have all debuted at the top of the box office during their respective opening weekends, and now Top Gun: Maverick is the fifth film from the studio this year to do so, and looking to be one of the year’s biggest films.

Enthusiastic word-of-mouth from critics and audiences will certainly boost Tom Cruise’s sequel in its box office hopes, and will further cement the actor as one of Hollywood’s last bona fide movie stars. In an age where it seems like the value of movie stars selling a picture has rapidly declined, Top Gun: Maverick has showcased that in regards to Cruise, he’s an undisputed cinematic icon that continues to lure audiences into the cinema for theatrical experiences.

Here is the synopsis for Tom Cruise’s sequel:
