Another season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is reportedly in the works following the show’s record-breaking premiere on Disney Plus.

Disney Plus has notably labeled Obi-Wan Kenobi as a limited series, but Ewan McGregor and Kathleen Kennedy have both teased a season two is on the table. The two-episode premiere of Kenobi smashed the Disney Plus record for a debut previously held by The Mandalorian.

According to Making Star Wars, Kenobi‘s early success has already led to the development of another season. The report mentions that it’s unclear if this will be a continuation of the current story unfolding right now or if it will explore another part of the Jedi’s life.

What’s Next for Kenobi?

The current series deals with the aftermath of Revenge of the Sith ten years later. Another season of Kenobi could dive into more of the character’s exile on Tatooine since the series has taken him off-world to save a young Princess Leia.

The comics have explored this timeframe a little bit as well, and Star Wars Rebels jumped towards the end, where he faced Maul one more time. Maybe another season will bring back Jar Jar Binks, which was previously rumored.

Here is the synopsis for the Star Wars event series:

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The series will also see the return of legendary Star Wars composer John Williams, who scored a theme.

The first three episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are on Disney Plus now, with new episodes airing every Wednesday. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the future of Star Wars, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
