Michelle Williams intends to reunite with Tom Hardy on Sony Pictures’ upcoming Venom 3.

In 2018, Sony Pictures released their first entry in their expanded Spider-Man Universe of films: Venom. The film, which starred Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Michelle Williams as Anne Weying received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, but ended up grossing an astonishing $856.1 million at the global box office. This led to the release of a sequel, and now Venom 3 is confirmed as part of Sony’s upcoming slate.

In an interview with Variety, the actress expressed that she is looking to return to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe whenever Venom 3 begins production, hopeful to reunite with Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock:

“I have every intention of continuing with the series. I certainly hope they bring me back.”

In the Variety interview, Michelle Williams reflected on one particular scene from Ruben Fleischer’s 2018 film, in which she is possessed by the same alien symbiote that Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock was influenced by:

“Pretending that a monster is getting into your body and then taking over and leaving your body, that’s hard. I want to keep growing, and Venom is an important step in my growth.”

Michelle Williams briefly embodies the She-Venom character in the 2018 film, and although nothing concrete regarding the future of that character has been reported, it would be fun to see the Academy Award-nominated actress take on such a role in Venom 3. At this moment, it is unknown who will be in the director’s chair for this one, especially given that Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis is quite busy with numerous projects, but here’s hoping that Williams gets to embody such an exciting character alongside Tom Hardy once again.

Here is the synopsis for Venom: Let There Be Carnage:

Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’S greatest and most complex characters. In search of his next big story, journalist Eddie Brock lands an exclusive interview with convicted murderer and death row inmate Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who discovers Eddie’s secret and becomes the host for Carnage, a menacing and terrifying symbiote.

Directed by Andy Serkis from a script written by Kelly Marcel, the film stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson.
