LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation, a brand new original special, has been announced to stream on Disney Plus later this year.

As Star Wars Celebration continues in Anaheim, CA, yet another exciting announcement has come out. A new original Disney Plus special, titled LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation is set to premiere on the streaming service in August 5, 2022.

The new special, which will be the third in Disney PlusLEGO Star Wars original specials is set sometime after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, and will follow Rey Skywalker, Poe Dameron, Rose Tico, Finn, and Chewbacca taking a well-deserved vacation. Along with the announcement, an official poster for the special was also revealed:

Previously LEGO Star Wars specials on Disney Plus included The Holiday Special, which focused on Rey, and Terrifying Tales, which focused on Poe. Summer Vacation is set to showcase Finn front-and-center. The former Stormtrooper-turned-Resistance leader is often subject to many fans’ criticisms of the Sequel Trilogy due to how he was originally set up in The Force Awakens as arguably the deuteragonist in the story, only for his role to be significantly downgraded in prominence in the following two films.

Along with the announcement of this LEGO Star Wars special, the official voice cast was also revealed. Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Dee Bradley Baker, Helen Sadler, Jake Green, James Arnold Taylor, Kelly Marie Tran, Kevin Michael Richardson, Kyliegh Curran, Matt Lanter, Matt Sloan, Matt Wood, Omar Miller, Ross Marquand, Shelby Young, Trevor Devall, Thomas Lennon, Paul F. Tompkins, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Yvette Nicole Brown will lend their voices to the Disney Plus exclusive, with some of these cast members reprising their roles from the official franchise.
