Morbius “fans” have made a petition for the Jared Leto film to be released in theaters for a third time.
The latest entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe of films, Morbius, was subject to an ironic internet meme recently, with many so-called “fans” online hyping up the film, with many sharing the fake quote, “It’s Morbin’ time!” in reference to the Jared Leto-starring film. The meme became so massive, that the film was released into theaters again recently, only for it to flop at the box office yet again.
However, fans continuing the ironic Morbius meme have now taken to change.org to start a petition, calling on Sony Pictures to release the film *again*, and the description is also as humorous as you’d expect:
This weekend, excited fans across the world had the chance to once again see Morbius in the theaters. While this was an awesome opportunity, there was one problem:
We were all busy this weekend.
Some of us were washing our hair, some of us had to study, and some of us had just already made other plans.
Please don’t interpret this as disinterest on our part. If you were to once again release Morbius in theaters, just let us know, and we will be there for sure.
Unless something comes up.
Fans of the Movies”
After Sony Pictures’ attempt to cash in on the viral Morbius meme, the theatrical re-release was a flop, showcasing yet again how memes can bring a lot of laughs, but a bad movie is still a bad movie. Besides, with new releases such as Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World Dominion out, who is looking to watch Jared Leto’s living vampire movie in theaters when it can already be seen at home?
Here is the synopsis for the film:
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach produced the project with Lucas Foster, with Palak Patel overseeing it for Sony.
Morbius is available on Digital, and will hit DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD on June 14. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding Jared Leto’s Living Vampire, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
