A behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Marvel’s upcoming Disney Plus series Echo reveals a new logo for the show.
Echo will follow Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez, previously introduced as a villain in Hawkeye. The character goes on to become a hero in Marvel’s comic continuity, which saw her shoot and blind her adoptive father, Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. Hawkeye ended with Maya apparently shooting Kingpin, though it happened off screen, so it is possible her spin-off series will follow in the comics’ footsteps and explore her heroic origin following this moment.
When the Echo spin-off was first revealed by Marvel Studios, the announcement came with a title card for the upcoming Disney Plus series. However, it is not uncommon for MCU projects to change their logo as they go into production and release dates draw near. That appears to be the case for Echo, as a new set photo reveals.
A behind-the-scenes image from the set of Echo surfaced online, being shared by Reddit user u/MarvelsGrantMan136. It shows a clapperboard being used in the series’ production, with the new logo visible on the bottom of the board. It’s a more simplistic and more curved design than the one previously revealed. Check it out below:
While it is known Echo will be an origin story, taking place after the events of Hawkeye, little else has been confirmed so far. Many fans are hoping the series will see both Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil return alongside Alaqua Cox’s Echo.
Here is the official synopsis for Echo:
“The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.”
Serving as executive producers on Echo are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre, and Jason Gavin, while Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King, and Jennifer Booth will serve as co-executive producers.
