Disney reportedly wants to start releasing a Star Wars video game two times a year.

The frequency of Star Wars video games has been lacking under Disney compared to the old LucasArts days. EA initially held onto the exclusive rights to the Star Wars license, but that has come to an end with Lucasfilm Games now developing more titles with other studios.

Since obtaining the license in 2013, EA has put out two Battlefront games, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Star Wars: Squadrons. EA is still set to release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order next year and develop other games in the future under Respawn Entertainment.

According to a new report from Insider Gaming, Disney is looking to release “one major AAA title and one smaller game per fiscal year.” Star Wars games have notably hit a rough patch recently, with several projects getting canceled.

What Are Other Star Wars Games In Development?

Lucasfilm Games has already many announced a few of the Star Wars titles in the works, with Star Wars: Hunters, Star Wars Eclipse, the Knights of the Old Republic remake, an open-world game from Ubisoft, FPS and strategy games from Reswpan, and Amy Hennig’s game, rumored to be a revival of Project Ragtag.

Here is the synopsis for the first Star Wars Jedi game:

“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™ is an action-adventure game set after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith™. Develop your Force abilities, hone your lightsaber techniques, and explore the ancient mysteries of a long-lost civilization—all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release in 2023. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding future Star Wars games, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
